Key features of the Arundhati Gold Scheme

1. Women empowerment – The primary aim of the Assam government is to empower women with the implementation of this unique scheme.
2. Assisting poor brides – Another objective of the scheme is to help the brides from the poor families. The monetary grant can be used to arrange the wedding ceremony.
3. Financial assistance – The state government has added a new benefit for the beneficiaries. The state Finance Minister said that each beneficiary will also be given Rs. 40,000. The financial grant will be deposited in the beneficiary’s bank account.
4. Gold for the bride – Each beneficiary, will acquire one tola gold as a gift from the state government. The estimated market price of 10 grams of gold is around Rs. 38,000. The gold ornaments will be given to the respective beneficiary on the day of the social marriage.
5. Budget for the scheme – The state Finance Minister was happy to announce that the earlier financial allocation of Rs. 300 crore has been raised to Rs. 800 crore. The money will be utilized for providing financial and gold ornament to the beneficiaries of this scheme.

Eligibility Critria for the scheme

1. Resident of the state – It is necessary that the applicants are legal and permanent residents of this state.
2. Religious requirement – The applying bride must belong to a Hindu family.
3. Age requirement – The scheme will only allow the participation of female applicants who have completed the legal age of 18 years. The age of the groom must be no less than 21 years.
4. Academic requirements – It has been stated that if any interested bride wants to apply for this scheme, then she must have completed and passes the final examination of 10^th
5. Legal requirement – The marriage needs to be registered under the Arundhati Gold Scheme, as mentioned in the Indian Constitution.
6. Family income of the bride – The project guidelines highlight that the yearly family income of the applying bride needs to be either less than or equal to Rs. 5 lakhs. In case the income is more than this, then the applicant will not get the perks of this scheme.

Documents necessary for application

1. Residential proof – The applicant needs to attach a copy of the official residential proof documents that has been issued by the Assam government.
2. Proof of religion – The religion certificate must be offered with the application form.
3. Age certificates – If the applying bride fails to offer her and the groom’s age certificates, then her application will be rejected.
4. Academic certificate – The bride must submit the copies of her school registration certificate and the final mark sheet copy of 10^th
5. Marriage registration certificate – The photocopy of the marriage registration certificate must be offered along with the enrollment form. It will be scrutinized by the state officials.
6. Family income certificate – It is necessary that the applying bride offers a copy of her annual family income with the registration form.
7. Aadhar card – The applying bride and the groom must submit copies of their Aadhar cards during the final application.
8. Bank account details – As the financial grant will be deposited in the bride’s bank account, the necessary account details must be submitted with the application form.

How to apply for Assam Arundhati Gold Scheme

1. The candidate should apply for the above-said scheme on the same day of registration of the marriage act of 1954
2. The candidate should submit filled up application form accompanied by relevant documents to the Marriage Officer who will be responsible for completing the registration procedure
3. It is important to submit an online application to avail of the scheme benefits for this, the candidate should visit link
4. After filling up the application form, the candidate needs to click on the submit button for the completion of registration of application for the scheme
5. Following this, the applicant should take a print out of the form and duly sign the printed form and submit it to the registered office. It should be accompanied by the documents that are required for scrutiny by higher authority. One can refer to the guidelines of the scheme when submitting the application form.
6. After the submission, the applicant will be given a receipt and get enclosures from the registrar office.
