Key features of the scheme

  1. Development of the poor – The state government will be able to pave the path for the betterment of the lives of the needy people, especially those, living in the rural areas.
  2. Offering social security – Another objective of this welfare project is to provide both financial and social security to the needs Schedule Caste people.
  3. Pension amount – The Finance Minister highlighted that the beneficiaries will get a pension that amounts to Rs. 1000.
  4. Frequency of payment – The beneficiaries of this state project will get the financial assistance on a monthly basis.
  5. Payment Mode – The beneficiaries of this new state-sponsored welfare project will get the grant amount in the bank account. Direct Benefit Transfer mode has been selected for the distribution of project perks.
  6. Grant under Jai Johar program – The Chief Minister will provide a monthly pension of Rs. 1000 to the needy senior citizens, which fall in the Schedule Tribe communities.
  7. Estimated beneficiaries – It has been highlighted by the Finance Minister of the state that the successful operation of this scheme will bring around 3 lakhs eligible applicants, under the umbrella of this welfare project.
  8. Budget allocation – The West Bengal finance departments has already taken the necessary measures to arrange around Rs. 2,500 crore crore, which will be required for the implementation of this project.

Eligibility for the applicants

  1. Residents of West Bengal – Only those people will be able to partake in the scheme, which are legal residents of West Bengal.
  2. Must belong to SC category – The state government will accept the enrollment requests, made by the Schedule Caste members.
  3. Jai Johar caste requirement – If an applicant desires to attain the pension grant as per the guidelines of the Jai Johar program, he/she needs to produce the copy of the Schedule Tribe certificate.
  4. Financial background – The applicant must belong to the BPL or EWS category to avail the benefits of this pension scheme.
  5. Age requirement – The SC applicants, who have completed the age of 60 years, will obtain this pension. This eligibility is also applicable for the applicants who want to register for the Jai Johar program launched recently by the state.
  6. Bank account – It is essential that the applicants have access to an active bank account

Documents necessary for application

  1. Residential document – If the applicant wants to be selected as the beneficiary of this project, then he/she needs to attach a legal residential document, issued by West Bengal government.
  2. ID proof – Attaching a photocopy of the applicant’s Aadhar documents is a must.
  3. Caste certificate – As the project has been developed for the determent of the SC applicants, it is mandatory to submit a copy of the Schedule Caste certificate.
  4. Income certificate – The applicant can furnish a copy of the BPL certificate with the enrollment document.
  5. Age proof – Every candidate needs to provide legal documents, which supports his/her age claims.
  6. Bank details – Any bank document that sheds light on the account details of the beneficiary, must be attached with the enrollment form.

How to attain registration form and apply?

The Finance Minister of West Bengal has officially announced that the Bandhu Prakalpa will be implemented in the state. He has not mentioned anything about the registration process. When the West Bengal government comes up with an official declaration, we will update the registration details on our portal. The minister said that the scheme will be implemented in all the districts as soon as possible. He also pointed out that the main aim of the Chief Minister of the state is to offer better facilities, and financial security, to people from all sections of the society.
