 The AP Jagananna Palle Velugu Scheme 2021 has been initiated by Andhra Pradesh state government for the purpose of installing LED lights for the citizens of the state. There are almost 2K selected areas that do not have light coverage and therefore, this present project has been introduced for the good of the common citizens. The main idea is protection of the common people who are traveling on the streets.   1. Main focus of portal launch – The main objective of scheme launch is to install quality LED street lights and make the remote places a safer one for women 
  2. Beneficiaries of portal launch – The citizens of Andhra Pradesh are the beneficiaries of the scheme as they can travel without fear in the remote areas 
  1. Installation of lights – The state government will initiate the installation of almost 4 lakh LED lights in the state for enhanced safety and ease of traveling 
  2. Setup of complaint monitoring system – Village secretariat will address complaints of non-working street lights and process for smooth installation of the LED lights in remote places
  3. Responsibility of executives – The CM of the state has come up with 1 executive in the assembly consistency level, 1 at revenue division level, and another at the district level for proper installation and planning for the same 
  4. Number of village volunteers to help in the scheme – A total of 2.7 lakh village volunteers has been appointed by higher authorities to identify and report the malfunction of street LED lights and fix the same 

What are the benefits of LED Street Lights Installation?

  1. The LED street lights runs for a long time compared to others 
  2. The LED not have filaments, resulting from this, it does not burn quickly and lasts for a long time 
  3. The LED lights on streets are chemical free 
  4. The lights require little maintenance cost with less heat generation and these are reasons enough to install the same in remote places 
  5. The LED would consume less energy but provide appropriate light on the streets, ensuring better women safety 
  6. After successful installation of the lights in the remote areas, there will be less of the such places across the state 
  7. The new lights after installation will improve the color of the lights compared to the rest on the street
  8. Other than 4 lakh led light installation,  there are 25 lakh lights to be fixed across the state 

Therefore, the successful installation of the light is beneficial as it is an environmentally friendly option and saves money on installation and heat generation compared to other forms of street lights. 

Details of complaint monitoring system 

The Andhra Pradesh government has been given the responsibility of a complaint monitoring system to take off streetlight installation at the earliest. In this relation, 80% of representatives have been assigned to look after the repair and maintenance. However, the decision has been fixed by the Minister of Panchayat Raj and Rural Development on the 30th of June, 2020. In addition to this, the LED light will be installed by the Energy efficiency services Ltd. for the help of common citizens of the state.
