The Tamil Nadu state government has come up with Makkalai Thedi Maruthuvam Scheme to help patients suffering from non-communicable disease. By this, the patients can get the service at doorstep without visiting the healthcare centers. This way, they will be diagnosed early and get assistance for curing the problem. A total budget of rupees 258 crores have been allocated by the state government for successful implementation of the scheme. It can be expected to cover up almost 1 crore beneficiaries who are part of 30,00,000 families in the state.

Under the scheme, medical facilities and medicines will be provided at door step and the initiative will be taken care of by chief minister of Tamil Nadu, MK Stalin.
